Meet Our Staff
A child’s relationship with his or her counselor can make all the difference between a great summer camp experience and one that is only so-so. We make it a priority to hire staff that can inspire, lead, motivate, reassure, protect and laugh with our campers.
We hire teachers or mature high school and college students. Although most of our staff comes from the local area, we also hire staff members from across the country and around the world. Every staff member undergoes a thorough interview, including criminal background check, and extensive training to prepare them to help your children get the most out of their camp experience.
Year Round Personnel
Michael Drumm, Executive Director
Michael’s dedication to the camps began back in 1991 when he was a Counselor-in-Training. After receiving his B.S. in business administration from Franciscan University in Steubenville, OH, Michael jumped at what he called a “once in a lifetime opportunity” to work full-time as Fatima and Bernadette’s Marketing & Development Director. He also served as Camp Fatima’s Resident Director during the summer. Michael’s business and marketing talents, combined with the genuine joy he takes in interacting with and mentoring campers & staff, let to his appointment as Executive Director in 2016. Michael is a member of both the New Hampshire Camp Director’s Association and the American Camp Association (ACA). With the ACA, he serves as a Lead Visitor, ensuring other ACA camps maintain their accreditation; a Standards Instructor; and has served as a member of the Professional Development & Education and Steering Committees. Michael volunteers his time at his church as a Sunday school teacher and also at a local cold weather shelter. He and his wife, Jennifer, whom he met and married at Camp Fatima have two future campers at home.
Joanne Towle, Business Manager
Joanne has been the business manager and camp registrar since 2000. She is also a camp parent, with three Camp Bernadette & Fatima campers, two of whom will be returning again this summer. Joanne is delighted to combine her love of summer camps with her organizational and financial skills. She earned her AA degree from the University of New Hampshire in Manchester, and is continuing her education at New Hampshire Technical Institute. Prior to coming to camp, she worked in banking and as a parish secretary for St. Joan of Arc Church in Alton. Joanne is a member and volunteer with the American Camp Association and is a past secretary with the New Hampshire Camp Director’s Association.
Chris Rivers, Facilities Manager
Chris has been a carpenter for almost two decades. He began providing carpentry services to the camps when he launched his own business in 2004. He began doing more and more for the camps and was named our Facilities Manager in 2011. Chris’ wife, Nicole, has a been a Starter Week/Special Needs counselor for two seasons. In his down time, Chris enjoys coaching youth hockey and doing anything outdoors, including hunting, fishing, camping, kayaking and working on his vintage Ford. Chris and Nicole have two children who attend Fatima/Bernadette.
Sara Smith, Registrar
If you have questions or need help enrolling your child in camp, Sara is here for you! Sara joined our year-round staff in September 2016 to manage all facets of camp enrollment, including processing applications and payments. In addition, she follows up on staff applications and manages background checks as our Safe Environment Coordinator. Sara’s three boys were campers at Fatima and her daughter remains a dedicated Bernie camper who would love to spend the entire summer at camp if possible! Sara is a long-time volunteer at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Church in Concord, NH, where she leads family and youth ministry programs.
Brendan Stackhouse, Marketing Director
Brendan came to Camp Fatima as a camper and has stayed connected ever since. Over his 17-year relationship with Fatima, he served as a Counselor, Land Director, Junior & Senior Division Head and Program Director. Beginning in September of 2017, Brendan joined the full-time team as the Marketing Director. Drawing from his degree in studio television production from Emerson College, as well as experience in various television production positions, Brendan creates and delivers marketing presentations to potential campers and their families and develops programs to maintain alumni engagement. A native of nearby Wolfeboro, Brendan enjoys coaching the cross country and track teams at his alma mater, Kingswood Regional High School, during his spare time.
Katie Beaulieu, Resident Director of Bernadette
Camp Bernadette has played a pivotal role in Katie’s life since she was a small child. Her father was a head staff member at Camp Fatima and both she and her brother attended the camps before she moved on to become a CIT and counselor at Bernadette. Her deep commitment to both Camp Bernadette and her faith, combined with extensive management experience, makes Katie uniquely qualified for her new role as Resident Director at Camp Bernadette. Katie holds a BA in management from Assumption College, an MBA from the University of Massachusetts-Boston, and has held a variety of supervisory roles over the past decade. Katie is thrilled to give her own four girls the life-changing Camp Bernadette experience that she enjoyed.
Simon Therrien-Denis, Resident Director of Fatima
Simon first came from his native Montreal to Camp Fatima as a 7-year-old junior camper. He was encouraged to attend camp by his uncle and former Fatima counselor, Gilles Therrien, as well as his aunt, Michele, who had been a Bernadette counselor. Over the years, Simon has worn many hats at Fatima: a camper, CIT, counselor, Intermediate and Senior Division Head, CIT Director, Program Director and Land Director. He relishes his new role as Resident Director at Camp Fatima as a way to share wonderful summer experiences and close bonds with a new generation of campers. When Simon is not at Camp Fatima, he works as a political advisor in the National Assembly (Parliament) in Quebec City, Canada.
